Our Story

Elizabeth Street Extended Hours Preschool is small, not for profit centre-based service in the Hawkesbury region of NSW. We are proud to service our local community with high quality education and care.

We are operated by a parent management committee and retain highly qualified, experienced and committed staff that take ownership and demonstrate pride in being educators within the community.

Our educators and teachers range in experience, age, cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. We work together using these combined qualities to deliver best practice and quality outcomes for each child, family, and circumstance.

We acknowledge that Elizabeth Street Extended Hours Preschool stands on the sacred land of the Dharug People, the traditional custodians, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging in our daily practice.

Our outdoor play area provides a large natural space for children to learn from their environment and to respect and care for our land. We embed sustainable practices that teach children to reuse, reduce and recycle and to become knowledgeable citizens of the world.

We are an inclusive service and are committed to providing a curriculum that considers all children’s social and cultural backgrounds, learning abilities and styles, gender, and family circumstance and home environments when holistically programming and planning.

We are committed to advocating for children from our community, nation, and the world as we work within the contexts of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the ECA Code of Ethics and the National Quality Framework within a Child safe environment.

Nutrition and Mealtimes

We believe in nurturing healthy eating habits from an early age. Our approach includes:

  • Progressive mealtimes with waste-less, healthy lunchboxes brought from home.
  • A healthy morning tea provided daily by the preschool.
  • Supper offered for children staying after 5 PM.
